Jalothon 2026
The Jalothon 2026 Competition is an initiative focused on water conservation and climate resilience, organized by VJTI Mumbai, Jalparishad Mitra Parivar, and associated organizations to encourage villages to assess their water resources, recognize conservation opportunities, formulate water action plans, and enhance their readiness for potential water scarcity and the effects of climate change.
The following village teams are registered for the Jalothon-2026: Chinchpada (चिंचपाडा), Chiryachapada (चिऱ्याचापाडा), Bhenshet (भेनशेत), Khirdi (खिर्डी), Kelavan (केळावण), Bedse (बेडसे), Aamda-Barhe (आमदा-बार्हे), Bhati (भाटी), Thanagaon (ठाणगाव), Gurtembi (गुरुटेंबी), and Kalmane (कळमणे). Each team consists of 10 members recommended by the grampanchayat.

"To build water-secure, climate-resilient, self-reliant, and sustainable rural communities."
Every village should scientifically assess, conserve, and manage its water resources to effectively address future water scarcity and climate change challenges.
Jalothon 2026 – Mission
Prepare "One Village – One Water Plan" for every participating village.
Map, survey, and digitally document all village water resources and water-related infrastructure.
Develop action plans for water conservation, groundwater recharge, and rainwater harvesting.
Foster community participation by bringing together villagers, students, NGOs, technical experts, and local self-government institutions.
Train and empower Jal Mitras (Water Volunteers) to create local leadership for water management.Enhance village preparedness against droughts and water crises caused by climate change.
